Marie-Gabrielle and Christopher have been growing sprouts and Microgreens at Sunsport gardens for five years now. They have an indoor farm on the property where they grow Sunflower, Speckled pea, Sprouts and Wheatgrass

Reminder:
In the recycling area, please put only aluminum containers, juice boxes, and plastic items (except styrofoam, bags,and utensils) in the blue bins; clean paper and cardboard in the yellow bins. All other small items should be bagged and placed in the dumpster. The maintenance staff should not have to sort our garbage. If the garbage is not sorted properly, it can not be recycled. Thank you.
To help Sunsport and the environment, *please deposit aluminum cans in a special bin with a round hole in the top in the main recycling area.

Deposit other trash in the large grey or black trash bins with tops.
Please secure all trash cans tightly since raccoons are skilled at opening containers and making large messes. Thanks.

Spring and Rain = Resurrection
The resurrection fern (Pleopeltis polypodioides), a native air plant, is a fascinating fern species found in Florida, known for its ability to survive extreme drought conditions, shriveling up and appearing dead during dry periods, then reviving with moisture.
Here's a more detailed look at the resurrection fern:Key Characteristics:
Epiphyte:It's an epiphyte, meaning it grows on other plants (like trees) for support but doesn't take nutrients from them.
Drought Tolerance:It's highly adapted to survive periods of drought, losing up to 75% of its water content and appearing brown and dry.
Revival:Once moisture returns, the fern rapidly rehydrates and regains its vibrant green color, earning it the name "resurrection fern".
Habitat:It's commonly found on the branches and trunks of live oaks, but can also grow on other trees, logs, stumps, rocks, and even buildings.
Reproduction:It reproduces by spores, which are located on the underside of its fronds.
Nutrient Acquisition:It absorbs water and nutrients from the air and organic matter on the surface where it is attached, rather than from its host plant.
Distribution:It is native to the Southeastern United States, extending from Florida to New York and west to Texas.
Space Traveler:In 1997, it was taken into space on the Space Shuttle Discovery to study its resurrection in zero gravity.

Realist painter Sylvia Sleigh (1916-2010) was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Women’s Caucus for Art shortly before her death in 2010. Celebrated for her portraiture and male nudes, she “turned traditional portraiture on its head by presenting the male nude posed as a reclining Venus or odalisque.” The Times, Oct 2010.
Born in 1916, Sylvia Sleigh grew up in Hove and was a student at the Brighton School of Art. When she died in New York in 2010, she had been honoured with the announcement of a Lifetime Achievement Award, 2011 by Women’s Caucus for Art and had received the 2008 Distinguished Artist Award for Lifetime Achievement by the College Art Association.

“I did this by placing my models in beautiful settings outside or inside against colorful landscapes or pleasing fabrics. To me, it made me think that the model was a jewel, being emphasized by their surrounding or environment. Feminism allowed me to express my thoughts freely. It gave me the freedom to show the beauty of the body – the most luminous parts equally. My style is the way I can best express these ideas.
“Feminism gave us this intense freedom of expression thus allowing a change. Anything that helps to express the artist’s ideas, whether it is to surprise, glorify, shock or simply express a philosophy will lead to a change or will simply allow an opportunity for change.”
