Beginning in April, the special drum circle ground fees will be in effect only until 10 pm when the office closes. After 10 pm entry, regular ground fees will apply.

through Sunsport's jungle are becoming more beautiful daily. The Lotus Pond between the Labyrinth and the Meditation Field is now in full bloom. Have an adventure exploring the trails north of the circumference road. Enjoy Sunsport during the longest days of the year.

The Permaculture Group:

|
|
The Permaculture Group has been very active with projects improving water flow and expanding the community garden. They are developing a project to raise chickens for fertilizer and eggs. The group meets the second and fourth Mondays in the restaurant at 7 pm.

The Full Bloom Music and Arts Festival
|
|
|
|
There was record attendance at the Full Bloom Music and Arts Festival for Young Adults the second weekend in May at Sunsport. The weekend featured a great band playing poolside, yoga, personal growth workshops, fire and poi spinning, body painting, and much more.
The producing group coordinated by Karl Harris has a new name Young Adult Naturists (YAN). Photos of the event are on Sunsport's website. The YAN weekends are held the second weekend of January, May, and September.

NEW POLICIES:
The Sunsport Board has adopted several new policies. Pop-up and tear-drop trailers will now pay camping fees at the trailer/RV rate rather than the tent rate. However, people who already have pop-up trailers at Sunsport may continue to pay tent rates if they are placed on sites designated by management and reside in their current pop-up. Most of the Eden Camping Area will be for tent camping only beginning July 1 which means that pop-up trailers on Eden 3,4, and 5 sites will have to move. The Eden Camping Area will return to its original beautiful state.

Also, a person staying in any combination of abodes at Sunsport which already have 2 people staying in them will be limited to 14 days every 3 months. After the 14 days, they will pay tent camping fees. In the past, people have abused the policy by moving from one abode to another to avoid paying for camping.
|

Here is the exact wording of the policies:
Policy approved: "Pop-up trailers are designated as recreational vehicles and will be billed accordingly."
|
Policy approved: "People currently in pop-up trailers must move to designated areas to retain their current tent rates effective July 1, 2022."
|
Policy approved: "Effective July 1, 2022, designated sites in the Eden Area will be for tents only."
|
Policy revision approved: "A person may stay as a guest inside abodes at Sunsport which already have two adults for up to 14 days within a 3 months period. Beyond a total of 14 days in any combination of abodes, the person must pay camping fees."

Naturist Family Youth Camp July 9-17
Sunsport's 14th Annual Naturist Family Youth Camp will be July 9-17. Spaces for campers are still available. Children aged 4-17 and their families will experience a fun week of growth and community emphasizing interpersonal relations skills, learning, and creativity in a natural environment.
Campers have much flexibility in choosing their activities whether their interests are arts and crafts, movie making, sports, science, gardening, or drama. As usual we will have a fun-filled day playing in the sand and surf at a clothing-optional ocean beach, a camp variety show, crafts, nature exploration, canuding and kayaking, non-competitive sports, producing a claymation video, campfires, and lots of pool time, with individual attention for each camper.
There will be special activities best done clothesfree such as a slip-n-slide with paint, tie dye, water balloon throwing, gooey games, and a 10 foot ice cream sundae with as much landing on bodies as in mouths. Workshops on being proud of who we are, body acceptance, communication skills, and conflict resolution will help establish an atmosphere of caring about each other's feelings and positive relationships. Parents participate as much or as little as they like. Most of the favorite counselors will be returning.

If your child is attending, please email Morley at [email protected]. I need to know the names and ages of campers and any activities adult family members might like to lead. This information would be helpful in designing the schedule.
AANR-Florida is offering a scholarship for a camper whose parents are AANR-Florida members. Please let me now if you are interested. Thanks to the American Association For Nude Recreation and the Naturist Society Foundation for making significant financial contributions to help support the camp. Donations from others would be much appreciated to help defray costs.

The most recent N magazine, the quarterly publication of the Naturist Society Foundation, has two articles with photos about Sunsport, one on the Family Youth Camp and one on the Poker Ride through Sunsport. The June Bulletin, AANR's monthly publication, has an article on the Family Youth Camp. All yearly Sunsport members are members of both TNSF and AANR.

IMPORTANT TRASH POLICY CHANGE
|
The trash area in the northeast corner of Sunsport has been eliminated. Large trash items may now be placed only in the maintenance yard with the supervision of Team Leader Roger Byrd, preferably Monday through Friday.
|
|
The trailer holding recyclable scrap metal will be moved to the maintenance area. Plastic bags full of waste should be deposited in the dumpster in the recycling area, not in the maintenance area.
|
|
|
|
|
Please remember to place non-recyclable trash in bags tied at the top before placing it the bins. Bags should be light enough to lift easily. Large items should be taken to the main dumpster with large items placed outside the dumpster.
|
To help Sunsport and the environment, *please deposit aluminum cans in a special bin with a round hole in the top in the main recycling area.
|
- The yellow containers are for paper and flattened cardboard
- The blue containers are for aluminum cans*, glass, juice boxes, and plastics except styrofoam, bags, and utensils.
- Deposit other trash in the large grey or black trash bins with tops.
|
Please secure all trash cans tightly since raccoons are skilled at opening containers and making large messes. Thanks.

Permaculture Sunsport News

Berms & Swales:
A permaculture swale can be an important feature in the productive garden or earth-friendly yard because it helps to slow, store, and spread water.
|
As water flows across a typical surface or landscape, most of it will run off quickly without having a chance to soak into the soil, even on land that appears flat or very gently sloping. With a swale or other earthwork such as a rain garden, the water flows into the trench, where it slowly seeps deep into the soil. This produces little to no runoff.

FACEBOOK CENSORS IMAGES OF RUBENS NUDE PAINTINGS
It’s nothing new that Facebook censors nude photos, but now it turns out that even classical works of art aren’t spared from the social network’s policy. Works of 16th-century painter Peter Paul Rubens have been removed from Facebook after the Belgian region of Flanders shared them in a social media advertising campaign. As a response, Toerisme Vlaanderen, the Flemish tourism bureau wrote a rather humorous open letter to Mark Zuckerberg. They have even published a comical video that mocks the “21st century social media regulations.”
