Unfortunately our Canadian friends cannot travel South this winter; thus, we have a few sites available for seasonal campers in RVs. We always have space for tents.

Malabar Spinach growing in the Community/Market Garden.

Malabar spinach is high in Vitamin A (100 grams contains roughly 8,000 units), Vitamin C, iron, and calcium. It has a high amount of protein for a plant and is also a good source of magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium. Another good reason to eat malabar spinach is that it has a good amount of antioxidants, particularly beta carotene and lutein, those naturally occurring chemicals that help keep your cells from aging.

I am proud to announce that Dessa Johnson, who has attended Sunsport's Naturist Family Youth Camp for several years and was a Junior counselor this July, has won the Young Woman of the Year award from the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR). She made outstanding contributions to the camp.

She won the award based upon her essay which is printed below.

Women of the year AANR Essay

“what naturalism has done for my life.” by Dessa Johnson

The best memory I have of my younger years, around four or five, was running through my grandparents' house in the buff after a bath. Making my grandfather chase after me with a towel. Who knew that thirteen years from then I would be writing about how naturalism has changed my life in huge positive ways. The main impacts naturalism had on my life would be through body image, making friends I am sure to keep through my life, and the connections I have been able to make with my family that may have never been possible.

Being a teenager is quite the struggle with high school presentations, the clicks, and the judgmental students that come and go through the metaphorical halls of one's high school career. Before the start of my official naturalist lifestyle, I felt no confidence in giving presentations in the front of the class or even felt I was holding back from raising a hand to answer a question. My body confidence was also low while I was in the mix of different body types compared to mine on the swim team. Naturalism's impact on my high school career is something I do not take with a grain of salt. Meeting people in the buff has brought my speaking skills to what my teacher used to say was above that of any other student in my Advanced Placement class. I guess you could say I gave more though to imagining everyone naked. Along with bettering my public speaking skills, my outlook on my body has changed for the better. I was always scared to accept my curvy body to that of what is said as the perfect body. But living a naturalism lifestyle has shown me there are a lot more body types and that no body type is the “perfect” body type but your own. Having this in my mind has allowed me to come out of my shell with my teammates on the swim team and make so many greater relationships I will cherish from my high school career.

Continuing with the thought of relationships on the mind, my naturalist lifestyle has brought so many new people into my life and giving me so many more friends I will hold onto forever in my heart. Given the opportunity to go to places with teens my age has been beneficial with being able to connect with new friends and not have to hide the fact of my natalist lifestyle. Having a place every summer to see my naturalist family and connect with them thanks to my lifestyle. Knowing without the lifestyle I wouldn’t have these friends only makes me more grateful for them. I also notice how deeper of a connection I have with my nudy friends then the friends I have in my textile life. Seeing how important having friends as you get older, having people to connect with and grow with, is one of the best things anyone can ask for. It is only thanks to naturalism that I have these connections and relationships.

Moving on from something so great, I go onto something even better. The relationship I have with my family thanks to naturalism. My family has always been close; however, moving into the naturalist lifestyle has made my family more open with one another. Naturalism giving us many opportunities and options to explore the state of Florida through camps, parks, and going to see friends. Only four years ago did I have my first real road trip with my father and brother to west palm for my first ever camp. This experience made me understand how much naturism can just make any experience more fun and welcoming. Bring more the just a home nudist and going to camps also helped my find myself and how I can approach people and things to a whole new level. These things wouldn’t have been possible if my family didn’t try out the lifestyle. Though I don’t thank them physically I am always thankful for what my mother and father have given to me and my brother with the opportunities to try new things... nude things.

    Permaculture Sunsport News

Sunsport is building a vibrant permaculture community.

    Ackee-trees

    Ackee Fruit

Sunsport has 5 Ackee trees that where hidden away by Brazilian Pepper and where discovered when the ever encroaching peppers where removed.
The Ackees are in recovery mode after the peppers had almost killed them and caused them to grow very high in an attempt to survive.
They have been cut and a few are starting to fruit again.

WARNING: Ackee fruit if extremely poisonous unless picking at a certain time and prepared a certain way.

    Hey What is Permaculture?

    Geoff Farmer:
Permaculture is a philosophy of design for creating a sustainable human culture. That is, it's a way of thinking about how we set up the support systems around us: shelter, food, water, energy, society and business. Well designed permaculture systems allow us to live as a beneficial part of the ecosystems around us.

Hundreds pose nude wearing only masks for London art installation

While his naked art has previously been used as a form of protest, according to organizers Tunick's London installation was designed to celebrate "participation and freedom.

    london nude
Hundreds of volunteers have stripped and posed naked in a north London park -- all in the name of art.
Wearing nothing but a white face mask, some 220 volunteers gathered at Alexandra Palace to take part in the Everyone Together art installation organized by Spencer Tunick.
Tunick, who is known for bringing hundreds -- and sometimes thousands -- of people together to pose for striking mass nude photographs, positioned volunteers at least one meter apart according to social distancing guidelines.

    tunnic nude exhibition

"The reality of masses of people close together -- shoulder to shoulder, skin touching skin -- may be something of the past for now, but still the desire is there for that natural connectivity, perhaps more so now than ever,"

    Tunick said in a statement.
