Wild Salmon with Brussel Sprouts and Shredded Heirloom Carrots

Those shredded heirloom carrots were grown right outside the restaurant in our Garden Tower growing system.
The left overs go right back into the Garden Tower via a center tube where resident composting earthworms turn the scraps back into nourishing meals for the Collards, Kale, Carrots, Rosemary and many more edibles that grow around the perimeter.

The new Octagonal Gazebo with a Fire Ring and Fountain is beautiful. It will serve as a community meeting place and a location for workshops.

The redesigned Labyrinth is more attractive and functional with clear paths and a higher elevation. The golf cart Nature Trail is being regularly used providing an opportunity for people, particularly those with difficulty walking, to explore Sunsport's Edible Food Forest.
The projects are impressive; enjoy them.

Please use the appropriate containers for throwing out items. Place materials such as clean paper and cardboard in the yellow bins; cans, plastics (except Styrofoam, utensils, and bags), juice boxes, and glass and plastic bottles in the blue bins. Place large items such as platforms and furniture near, but not in, the dumpster. Place only bagged garbage and small items in the dumpster.
  • The yellow containers are for paper and flattened cardboard
  • The blue containers are for aluminum cans, glass, juice boxes, and plastics except styrofoam, bags, and utensils.
  • Deposit other trash in trash cans.
Please secure all trash cans tightly since raccoons are skilled at opening containers and making large messes. Thanks.
Although Sunsport's legal name is Sunsport Gardens Inc., we use the title Sunsport Gardens Family Naturist Resort. The Family part is important.
There are now four families with three generations residing at Sunsport plus other chidren. That is amazing. But that's not all.
Children are welcome at all activities at Sunsport. I believe that our Mid-Winter Naturist Festival is the only large event sponsored by a national naturist organization that has a full schedule of activities designed to interest children. Sunsport's July Summer Camp is a family camp with parents encouraged to participate with their children. Sunsport employs several teens and young adults.
I am proud that Sunsport provides a safe, healthy resort and community for families.

February is always Sunsport's busiest month of the year. All our camping sites with hook-ups are full as are all of our rental units. However, we always have space for tenting and dry camping.

This is a great time to enjoy Sunsport with friends you haven't seen for a while and an opportunity to make new friends.

Coconut-Mulch Circle

Our latest addition to the trail is a large coconut circle. Thanks to a generous donation from one of our members we were able to obtain 9 Dwarf Thai Coconut Trees.
In the middle of the circle you will see a deep wide pit that goes below the water table. It will be filled completely with garden debris to nourish the coconuts and to suck up deep water during times of drought.
This circle will join the one right next door that is planted with bananas.
Check out our FaceBook page for more details and meetings of the SunSport Permaculture Group.

Art & Naturism.......naturist spirited art

Edvard Munch........"in my art I attempt to explain life and its meaning to myself."

The Athenaeum - Bathing Men (1907) (Edvard Munch)
Munch often uses shadows and rings of color around his figures to emphasize an aura of fear, menace, anxiety, or sexual intensity. These paintings have been interpreted as reflections of the artist's sexual anxieties, though it could also be argued that they represent his turbulent relationship with love itself and his general pessimism regarding human existence.
Many of these sketches and paintings were done in several versions, such as Madonna, Hands and Puberty, and also transcribed as wood-block prints and lithographs. Munch hated to part with his paintings because he thought of his work as a single body of expression.
The Athenaeum - Harvesting Women (Edvard Munch)
So to capitalize on his production and make some income, he turned to graphic arts to reproduce many of his paintings, including those in this series. Munch admitted to the personal goals of his work but he also offered his art to a wider purpose, "My art is really a voluntary confession and an attempt to explain to myself my relationship with life—it is, therefore, actually a sort of egoism, but I am constantly hoping that through this I can help others achieve clarity."
While attracting strongly negative reactions, in the 1890s Munch began to receive some understanding of his artistic goals, as one critic wrote, "With ruthless contempt for form, clarity, elegance, wholeness, and realism, he paints with intuitive strength of talent the most subtle visions of the soul."One of his great supporters in Berlin was Walther Rathenau, later the German foreign minister, who strongly contributed to his success.
