October Special - ground fee waived for each cabin/trailer rental night!
sunsport-gardens
In spite of a couple of close calls, Sunsport has been fortunate to avoid the bad weather this Summer and early Fall.
The weather has been beautiful. The predominately dry weather has resulted in very few mosquitoes for this time of year.

Halloween is a month of fun with a Naturist Costume Dance on Saturday, the 26th, a Haunted Hayride at dusk on Wednesday, the 30th, and of course Trick-or-Treating on Thursday, Halloween evening.
For Halloween treats, I always opt for small toys as treats rather than unhealthy candy. The children and some of their parents seem appreciative.

the Naturally Nude Cafe.......whats cookin.....

SunSport Grown Fruits and Vegetables!

The Naturally Nude Cafe remains very popular. With new team leaders Loredia and Quiana Jones there is much business for this time of year.
chaya

Chaya

Our awesome chefs, Loredia and Quiana have created a tasty dish from Chaya grown right here in our own Market Garden. In the future we hope more and more to supply the restaurant with highly nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables all grown here, picked moments before preparing.
What is Chaya?
Native to Mexico and as one of its common names (spinach tree) implies, it is grown for its dark-green leaves, which it produces in abundance.
Chaya's young leaves and thick succulent stems make a tasty, nutritious, non-slimy vegetable when cooked.
Chaya leaves are highly nutritious, being a good source of protein; calcium, phosphorus, and iron; and vitamins A and C as well as niacin, riboflavin and thiamine. The leaves and stem tip materials normally are chopped into pieces before cooking like spinach. Chaya leaf and tip pieces also are added to soups and stews or mixed with onions and eggs to make tortillas.
CAUTIONS: Chaya must never be eaten raw, as it contains cyanogenic glycosides, as do almonds, tapioca, millet sprouts, lima beans, soy, spinach, bamboo shoots, cassava roots and apple seeds.
Cooking Chaya in boiling water for 5-15 minutes rids the stem and leaf materials of the poisonous cyanide components.

Preparing for Season, the maintenance staff has been doing lots of painting in South Florida colors and is removing weeds from the volleyball and petanque courts.

The SunSport Permaculture
Initiative Master Plan

The SunSport Permaculture Initiative has started to implement its plans to create a Permaculture Food Forest/Village and all around Garden of Eden in the North East corner of the property.
We are currently clearing invasive Brazilian Pepper trees to create a winding Meadow/Path thru the heart of the project where animals will graze and people can stroll. This will also allow us to control flooding and reduce the mosquito population.
Market/Community Garden
We are also working on getting the Market/Community Garden operational for the winter growing season. Garden beds are being raised and top soil will be added.
Volunteers are more than welcome to come help us make these projects a reality.
Check out our FaceBook page for more details and meetings of the SunSport Permaculture Group.

Art & Naturism.......naturist spirited art

From 1981, the Neo Naturists: two sisters, Christine and Jennifer Binnie and contemporary Wilma Johnson, started experimenting with body painting. They painted each other and used accessories: a plastic crab, some Sellotape, not to cover but to accentuate their canvases.

Their movement began in Central St Martins school of art and design, as the last mismatched chords of punk dissipated in bereft London clubs and the New Romantics were just shaking out their ruffles.
It was an unfashionable, hippie counter-movement that should be credited for its stubborn refusal to conform: "Neo Naturists are not interested in making themselves look like something else; they want to look like Neo Naturists,” declared their 'manifesto' Read More
