April is the month
when many of our friends from the North head home.
I'm sad to see them leave. They always bring much activity and fun to Sunsport. They are an important part of our community. On the bright side, they plan to return later in the year, when it gets cold up North.

In compliance with these new regulations the Sunsport Board has adopted yet another new rule that all pet alligators over 5 feet long need to be leashed at all times. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
FYI: the ban on pet crocodiles still remains in effect.

The SunSport Board of Directors
adopted two new policies at its March meeting:
1) The spraying of toxic substances on Sunsport property is not permitted. This includes mosquito spraying; use traps and repellents to avoid mosquitoes.
2) Due to the cost, the restaurant will no longer provide free take-out containers. You can bring your own container, or pay $1 for the recyclable restaurant containers.
The Board also reaffirmed Sunsport's policy of zero tolerance for illegal drugs.
The Board has established a large demonstration permaculture area.
A committee chaired by John Dodge is developing it. Contact John if you want to help with this exciting project.
A Community Garden Committee chaired by John Dodge and Kurt Strickland is also forming. Several Sunsport residents already have their own gardens. A community garden would bring people together in a fun and productive endeavor. Contact Kurt or John if you want to join in.

Sunsport is a naturist resort and community; it is not clothing-optional.
As the large sign says at the entrance, "Sunsport Gardens is a clothes-free facility. Nudity is expected." I have received a number of complaints that people are clothed. Now that we have consistently warm daytime temperatures, I would expect all people to be nude. Let's set a good example for our guests. As always nudity is required in the fenced in area around the pool and hot tub spa ejavascript:;xcept for the exceptions posted on the sign on the pavilion wall. On May 1, lower monthly summer rates take effect for sites. Annual site holders may opt for the lower summer rates with rates increasing substantially in November or the year round rate with rents half way between the summer and winter rates. If you wish to make a change in payment plans, please notify the office. Let's all enjoy one of the most beautiful months of the year at Sunsport.

Why Permaculture and What is Permaculture
Permaculture is a method of integrating the growing of human food and the natural processes of Nature. It has very high yield and a very small impact on native forest life. It seeks to increase diversity using only the natural relationships found at work in a forest.
It is also more than a way to grow food, Permaculture recognizes the harmonies and
communities found in nature and incorporates those qualities to create a paradigm where ethics and social awareness are integral to the processes and way of life known as Permaculture. Much along the lines of Naturism in terms of philosophies.
Permaculture has been a rapidly growing phenomena in the last 20 years and has attracted people of all ages and sexes. Especially younger people who are drawn to nature and have a strong belief in social awareness and environmental ethics. In this regard the marriage of Permaculture and Naturism is a natural and will ensure the values of Naturism will survive into the twenty first century. As well as cement Sunsport Garden’s reputation as a leader in Naturism and ecological awareness.
