Sunsport chosen as one of the 8 "best camp sites in South Florida”

We had a record number of attendees and over 245 activities. All 6 days had perfect weather.
|
|
At the Closing Friendship Circle, people said it was the best Festival ever. Many thanks to the workshop leaders, the Sunsport volunteers, and the Sunsport staff who worked long hours to produce a smooth running and stimulating Festival.
|
|
Contributions from the Festival registration fee will go to the Naturist Society Foundation, South Florida Free Beeches (Haulover Beach), and Treasure Coast Naturists (Blind Creek Beach).
|
|
As always, the Festival was six days of fun, growth and community.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The Eighth Annual Coed Volleyball Tournament near the end of February was lots of fun. It is unique in that players are a member of a different team for each game. Debbie Whetsel and Ken Wright were crowned queen and king for totaling the most points in the games in which they played.
|
|
|
|
Other Major Events
|
The first weekend in March features a Friday evening Community Drum Circle followed on Saturday with a Mardi Gras Dance to the music of the Moonshine Band. On Friday, March 8, Diarmid will lead International Circle Dancing. Then a Petanque Tournament will be held on Saturday, March 9, with Bob Fekete playing poolside. On Wednesday, March 13, in the afternoon there will be a Corn Roast on the Clubhouse Lawn. Dance to DJ music Saturdays, March 9 and 16. Saturday, March 23 dance with live music by the Justified Duo Band. Movies will be shown every Thursday at 7:30 pm in the Pavilion.

Ongoing activities include line dancing, Wednesday pot lucks and game evenings, yoga, Monday square dancing, Tuesday poker evenings, water aerobics, a Sunday evening spiritual discussion group, and daily tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and petanque.

The Smoothie Bar is now open
on Wednesdays from 11:30 to 1:30 when the restaurant is closed.
|
It will offer a variety of snacks including fresh fruit and pizza.
|
|

|
The SunSport Board
adopted two new policies at its February meeting:
|
1) A person may only be a third adult on one or more sites at Sunsport for 2 weeks within a 90 day period. It is the responsibility of the site holders to notify the office in writing of the presence of a third adult.
|
|
2) The charge for adding 15 amp electricity to vehicles in storage will be $45 per month.
|
|
|
|
|

This March, all sites at Sunsport are full; interesting activities are scheduled daily or people can relax by the pool or explore the nature trail. I am looking forward to a busy month with much fun in a great community.
