Welcome Zayn to Sunsport and the world. Rosalia Cannava gave birth to her son Zayn at her Sunsport home on July 29th. Zayn is the second baby born at Sunsport this summer and is joining siblings Zion and Zara and the other children living at Sunsport.

Zayn Leonardo Cannava Arrived at 1:31am (today) July 29th Weighing in at 9ibs 1oz Not at all the peaceful easy free birth I was planning on By nightfall last night I called for assistance which felt so needed and that I was so grateful to receive. Still processing how challenging of a birth it was.. will share birth story soon when ready. Baby and I are doing well for the most part though I lost a lot of blood and Zayn has been lethargic, not peeing or breastfeeding enough.

Beginning in April, the special drum circle ground fees will be in effect only until 10 pm when the office closes. After 10 pm entry, regular ground fees will apply.

Please arrive before 10pm to enjoy the $5 price.

The lotus pond is now in full bloom as are many bright colored flowers throughout Sunsport.
People are taking regular golf cart rides on the trail through the jungle and past natural attractions.
|
|
Thanks to a design by Geoff Farmer, an improved water management system holds rain water back to hydrate the forest before releasing excess to the canals and has kept the cart trail dry in spite of heavy rains. Ponds with mosquito eating fish have been created which dramatically reduce the mosquito population.

The Naturist Family Youth Camp was lots of fun....
becoming a loving, caring community. Families attended from as far away as British Columbia and Wisconsin. There were sports, boating, fishing, tie dying, body painting, piloting an airplane in a flight simulation, constructing and launching bottle rockets, campfires in the new Eden tenting area, and lots of time in the pool plus a beautiful sunny day at clothing optional Haulover Beach hosted by South Florida Free Beaches. Campers beautifully painted rocks and shells which you can now see in the labyrinth and beside the hot tub. Each morning started with a workshop developing interpersonal skills and body acceptance. Campers created a claymation video and, on the last evening, produced a variety show to display their talents.

Thanks to the Naturist Society Foundation, The American Association for Nude Recreation, and AANR-Florida for supporting the camp. Photos from the camp and the claymation video will soon be on the website.

|
|
Sunsport's camp is unique in being a FAMILY youth camp. This year, one half of the parents chose to be counsellors. The rest all helped out. The camp teaches and models positive relationship building. We demonstrate and practice recognizing and valuing feelings, active listening, and non-judgmental communication to resolve issues. There are no authoritarian commands or punishments. There are self-affirmations and affirmations by community members about individuals' skills, personality, and physical appearance. The theme, "We're all different and perfect", is stressed. Parents strengthen their parenting skills.

It is a wonderful opportunity for families to bond.

This is for the protection of Sunsport and the people providing the services.

The inoperable fireplace heater in the pavilion is being replaced with an aquarium.

The AANR Education Foundation (EF) has partially funded a film project entitled Birthday Suits. The director and his staff are seeking participants in a survey where the individual can remain anonymous. The crew aims to present nudism as accurately and respectfully as possible, and the survey is a key tool for the project to find participants and get multiple perspectives on nudist culture. IMPORTANT TRASH POLICY CHANGE
|
The trash area in the northeast corner of Sunsport has been eliminated. Large trash items may now be placed only in the maintenance yard with the supervision of Team Leader Roger Byrd, preferably Monday through Friday.
|
|
The trailer holding recyclable scrap metal will be moved to the maintenance area. Plastic bags full of waste should be deposited in the dumpster in the recycling area, not in the maintenance area.
|
|
|
|
|
Please use the appropriate containers for throwing out items. Place materials such as paper and cardboard in the yellow bins; cans, plastics except Styrofoam, juice boxes, and glass and plastic bottles in the blue bins. Place large items such as platforms and furniture near, but not in, the dumpster. Place only bagged garbage and small items in the dumpster. Never place plastic bags in the bins since they clog the recycling equipment. Thank you.

To help Sunsport and the environment, *please deposit aluminum cans in a special bin with a round hole in the top in the main recycling area.
|
- The yellow containers are for paper and flattened cardboard
- The blue containers are for aluminum cans*, glass, juice boxes, and plastics except styrofoam, bags, and utensils.
- Deposit other trash in the large grey or black trash bins with tops.
|
Please secure all trash cans tightly since raccoons are skilled at opening containers and making large messes. Thanks.
